Charlotte Brown

Charlotte started her career with Meikles in 2016 as a trainee and qualified as a Solicitor in April 2018. Charlotte is based at our Ferryhill office and deals with a variety of family matters. Charlotte is regularly instructed in relation to divorce and dissolutions of civil partnerships.

Charlotte has particular expertise in both Public and Private Children matters. Charlotte regularly represents and advises parents and other family members in care proceedings issued by the Local Authority. She also regularly provides parents with advice and assistance when the Local Authority are involved with the family pre-proceedings and attends pre-proceedings (PLO) meetings. Charlotte has established a strong client base at the Ferryhill office and also regularly acts for parents and other family members in private children matters such as contact disputes, Special Guardianship applications, and dealing with where a child shall live. Charlotte prides herself on providing her clients with thorough and honest advice, and she regularly assists parties in making applications to Court and representing them in proceedings.

Charlotte is accredited by the Law Society as a member of the Children Panel and is therefore recognised for her expertise in dealing with children issues, and is also able to represent children in proceedings.
